When children count, they basically learn numbers as a kind of "continuum" that goes on and on.  With simple counting your child might not catch on to the inherent structure of our number system, and how it is built with groups of tens, hundreds, thousands, and so on.
Use empty coffee capsules and plastic glasses . Place a pile of them on a table and show that it is easier to count them in groups of ten. First make groups of ten, then count the ten-groups and the individual beans separately. Say, "I have here five ten-groups, and four individual coffee capsules."
A counting game for place value In the game, each player adds one more counting object to the common pile on the table, and says the amount of total objects in a broken-down form. For example, eleven is said as "ten and one", twelve is said as "ten and two", twenty is "two tens", twenty-five is "two tens and five", and so on.
Whenever a whole ten is fulfilled, those ten coffee caps are bundled together into a bag.
Continue in a similar way. Take a different amount of coffee caps. Group them into groups of tens (and some left-overs). Count the ten-groups and the ones separately.
As you are doing that, you can introduce the words twenty, thirty, forty, etc.

·         These Number Bonds Games are great for testing children in their ability to solve number bonds problems for a given sum. A number bond is a mental picture of the relationship between a number and the parts that combine to make it. The concept of number bonds is very basic, an important foundation for understanding how numbers work. A whole thing is made up of parts. If you know the parts, you can put them together (add) to find the whole. If you know the whole and one of the parts, you take away the part you know (subtract) to find the other part.
Read the students story problems and have them fill in the parts of the story problem in the blank worksheet. This will help them understand and organize what's being asked in a story problem. We also used the blank part part whole worksheet to fill in after we used red and yellow chips to create part part whole on our white boards.

To work on subtraction, you can use the bowling game. Have students set up the bowling pins. They then roll one ball. Next, they will count how many pins they knocked down and record their math equation.
I made a colored and black/white version for each so you can have students use the worksheets, or slip one into a sheet protector so it can be used at a center with a dry-erase marker

We learnt subtraction with colouring. Very interactive and fun activity

We need cups and a cap.It is a great game and kids love to play it.It is quick and easy. You put the cap under a cup - hide the cap and make questions until you find it For example: You can use grater than or less than that the ordinal number you chooseYou start with- I THINK THAT THE CAP IS UNDER THE SECOND CUP- NO IT IS NOT. So you must take the cap. and then you ask IS IT LESS or higher value THAN THE SECOND? If the answer is less , you have to eliminate all the higher.

I said, I know you love numbers, so we’re going to do some number matching today–matching between the numeral, or the number we write, and the word for that number.

These Maths Worksheets allow kids to color, cut, paste and solve simple math problems.
