These
Number Bonds Games are great for testing children in their ability to
solve number bonds problems for a given sum. A number bond is a mental picture
of the relationship between a number and the parts that combine to make it. The
concept of number bonds is very basic, an important foundation for
understanding how numbers work. A whole thing is made up of parts. If you know
the parts, you can put them together (add) to find the whole. If you know the
whole and one of the parts, you take away the part you know (subtract) to find
the other part.
Read the students story problems and have them fill in the parts of the story problem in the blank worksheet. This will help them understand and organize what's being asked in a story problem. We also used the blank part part whole worksheet to fill in after we used red and yellow chips to create part part whole on our white boards.

To work on
subtraction, you can use the bowling game. Have students set up the
bowling pins. They then roll one ball. Next, they will count how many pins they
knocked down and record their math equation.
I made a colored and black/white version for each so you can have students use the worksheets, or slip one into a sheet protector so it can be used at a center with a dry-erase marker

We need cups and a
cap.It is a great game and kids love to play it.It is quick and easy. You put
the cap under a cup - hide the cap and make questions until you find it For
example: You can use grater than or less than that the ordinal number you
chooseYou start with- I THINK THAT THE CAP IS UNDER THE SECOND CUP- NO IT IS
NOT. So you must take the cap. and then you ask IS IT LESS or higher value THAN
THE SECOND? If the answer is less , you have to eliminate all the higher.

Maths meet Art
When I was a graduate student in art history, I read many explanations of
abstract art, but they were invariably inadequate and misleading.Maths is all
about patterns and rhythms, so it's no surprise that there's plenty of maths in
art. Whether it's the visual arts or the performing arts, maths can be a tool,
an inspiration, or simply something that's naturally contained within the
structures and patterns
Your students will enjoy participating in math class with our art activities for teachers of any grade level, from elementary to high school. Mix numbers with creativity with art activities that your students will love
Increase pupils' self-esteem in mathematics lessons
Challenge preconceptions of what maths is
Explore the beauty of maths
Increase pupil motivation and enjoyment
Make connections between different areas of maths in a meaningful way
Make cross-curricular links
Develop pupils'independent learning skills
Make math meaningful with these fun projects that allow your students’ creativity to shine! Post-It Note Math Integrate math and art with this collaborative project. Divide students up into groups

teaching Symmetry to Preschoolers our symmetry Math Activity with Circles and Shapes

...
I love this activity and students too.Symmetry is when
one shape becomes exactly like another if you flip, slide or turn it.
The simplest type of Symmetry is "Reflection" (or "Mirror") Symmetry, as shown in this picture of my dog Flame.
There is also Rotational Symmetry and Point Symmetry If points of a figure are equally positioned about a line, then we say the figure has reflection symmetry, or sometimes mirror symmetry. The line is called the reflection line, the mirror line, or the axis of symmetry. The axis of symmetry separates the figure into two parts, one of which is a mirror image of the other part.

Here is a great for
students to practice ordering numbers! With these immediate feedback puzzles,
students can put the numbers in order to reveal a Winter related picture. If
the numbers are out of order, then the picture will not look as it should. These
would make a great math center or independent learning activity.
All you have to do is print, laminate and cut the puzzle pieces apart!
